How to transform an old and disused shed into a charming holiday tiny house in Alsmeer
Aalsmeer is an old village on the shore of the lake close to Amsterdam. It is well known for the flower production but also as a tourist location for locals and tourists that like to spend weekends and short holidays on the beautiful lake.
P. asked me to convert the old shed located in her garden in a cozy, tiny and bright little house to rent to tourists. The space was used to stock garden tools and is measuring only 24 sqm. During the project I had to work also on the layout, since the structure was an open space without electricity, plumbing and heating systems. The challenge was to fit kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom for 4 people, with a limited budget that had to cover also for air conditioning, wi-fi, new kitchen and … really little left for the furniture.
P. was unsure about the style, but, the location and the country chic style of the main house, induced me to go in the same direction.
P. and her husband were really satisfied by the final result and their Airbnb clients still write very good reviews about the chic and enjoyable environment.
