Ex-carriage shelter in an early 1900s context
This i an incredible project I worked on a years ago! It was an important restoration a two-level apartment on the top floor of a building in the early 1900s. But this - it was built on the foundation of an ancient carriage-ambulance shelter of a nearby hospital! And the best part? It had two terraces facing east over the roofs of the historic center of an ancient and lively Venetian city. We completely renovated the roof and floors, and created a unique interpretation of the spaces with the demolition of walls and construction of a mezzanine that effectively opens the doors to a modern, ancient, industrial loft. The mix of style and materials was absolutely fascinating and never ceased to amaze us. It was truly a house full of details and contradictions, designed for an eclectic family of travelers.
